Birth Control/Switching birth control

Question
The pharmacist is the one that told me I could switch in the middle of it.  I picked up the prescription on Friday and he told me that I could just stop the other one and then start the new one on Sunday.  I was in a hurry and the pharmacy was very busy so I wasn't able to ask about using a back up.  I switched because the Ortho was causing severe water retention and weight gain.  I am on what should be day 16 of my cycle.  How long would I have to wait before even being able to take a test?  Also, I have been on birth control for 4 years now, so is there even a likelyhood of pregnancy being a possibility?  I wouldn't mind but my husband doesn't think that we are "financially ready."  Thanks

-----Question-----
I recently switched from Ortho Tri Cyclen to Yasmin.  I was in the first week of the ortho and took one Thursday.  I then started the Yasmin on Sunday.  My husband and I had unprotected sex both Saturday and Monday.  What are the odds that I could be pregnant?
-----Answer-----
Hi Jacque,
I'm not a medical professional so you might want to ask your physician or whoever prescribed the pills to you. Why did you switch during the cycle? It's possible that you could get pregnant? The pills, even taken exactly correctly, are not 100% prevention from pregnancy. There is a chance but I can't tell you the exact odds. If you want to get a free pregnancy test, check out http://www.optionline.org to find a testing center in your area.

Hi Jacque,
Just wanted to see if anything happened with you. Please let me know at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com
Thanks.

Hi again.. I would not want to trust the pharmacist with that kind of situation. I would want to talk to my doctor. But that's just my opinion. Also, you didn't have a chance to ask questions and make sure about things. Have you considered another kind of birth control method? I would be happy to talk to you more about it if you email me. Also, go ahead and call a pregnancy testing center in your area from http://www.optionline.org and they could tell you when you could take a test. Hope to talk soon.
