they gave my daughter the generic birth control pill for alesse, called levonorgestrel, is this the same thing? she's afraid to take it.

Thanks for your question. Actually, I would not recommend any kind of birth control at all. There are a lot of side effects and risks to any hormonal methods of birth control.
Personally, I would not give my own daughter any kind of birth control method (depending on her age and if she is married, of course.) I approve abstinence for young girls who are not married. So glad to hear from you again. I want to make sure that you know that I'm not a medical professional. In my opinion, the depo provera shot is even worse than the pill. Have you ever thought about Natural Family planning? Please go back to allexperts.com and go back to birth control and ask Ramona Quilter (she's one of the experts on birth control) She specializes in Natural Family Planning. Also, condoms is an option. Let me know what happens.
