Birth Control/depo

Question
I have taken the depo shot for 13 years.  5 months ago I missed getting the shot due to my mom in the hospital.  I never reschedualed to get it again.  I am 45 years old, I don't want to get pregnant, do you think I am sterle for getting the shot for so long?  My only side effects are tender breasts.

Answer
You need to discuss this with your provider. When do you think they were going to tell you to stop depo? Forty five year old women have a low risk of pregnancy plus that, your body takes a long time to recover from depo and get back to normal. You really need to discuss this with your provider.
