Question
Hello its about to be my second month on Tri-Spintec birth controll pill me and my boyfriend are having unprotected sex but he makes sure not to ejaculate in me. I take my pill eveyday at the same time and havent missed a dose. I understand that while on the pill we still get our periods but during the time of ovulation do we have a higher risk of getting pregnet?? Also i would like to know how effective is the pill if we take it correctly?

Answer
The only time a woman can become pregnant is when she ovulates and releases the egg. The egg lives for about 24 hours. Women not taking hormones and who chart their symptoms will know the approximate time when ovulation occurs and when pregnancy is possible. If you are on the pill your fertility symptoms are confused and unreliable. When the pill is taken correctly the chances of pregnancy are low. This means of 100 women taking the pill, from one to three, or less, will become pregnant over a years time. Taken correctly according to instructions, pregnancy rates are very low.
