I have been on Aviane for over 3 years now and never had any problems. I do get an occasional yeast infection that are very mild, but I have had those since I was around 15( I am now 21). I got put on Aviane because my menstral cycles last 7 to 8 days. It has really help me stay regular. As far as weight goes, I really think that depends on your body because I never gained weight.

The side effects that you have listed do not necessarily happen; there is not a causal link between taking the pill and these, merely a correlation in SOME cases. The pill doesn't protect against STI's and no one claims it does, so of course you will be susceptible to HIV if you have unprotected sex with someone who is HIV positive.

As for Aviane vs. Alesse, there are a lot of conflicting reports as to whether there are differences that will cause side effects or not. You should talk to your doctor to be sure if this generic version of Alesse will cause problems for you. Different pills have different effects on individuals, so you may see some side effects such  as mood swings or acne depending on your pill, until you find the one that is right for you.

hello. the person who answered with all that steroid/HIV bullshit is just trying to get you to lay off the pill. I have been on Aviane for 3 years and I am perfectly healthy, have healthy blood pressure, and as long as you take it daily at a regular time each day you are fine. Aviane, like other birth control pills, only affect your ovary-release while you are taking it. It may take 1-3 months to become fully adjusted to the artificial hormones in your body, so just be patient. Likewise, if you choose to stop birth control, it may take the same amount of time to become regulated again (and yes, your ovaries will release eggs regularly again). Birth control is that, BIRTH CONTROL. it works by either preventing the release of an egg, or thickening the mucus membrane of the uterus to prevent pregnancy. perfectly safe. If this is not enough info, you can also research Alesse and Lutera. Lutera and Aviane are generics to Alesse, therefore there may be more info on Alesse, which is essentially the same info you are looking for about Aviane.

take care! don't let paranoid ppl scare you.
