There are no steroids in birth control pills, just hormones.  Most side effects of birth control pills fade after 3 months on the pill, or you can switch to a different dose.  The most common side effects of the b.c. pill are reversible once you go off it.

Your period is a natural normal function of your body. Protect your fertility. Birth control pills are bad medicine for something that is delicate and easily destroyed. Now is a good time to quit using the pill.
