Experience I myself have tried the pill, the sponge, comdoms and am now practicing the fertility awareness method. I can answer questions on all birth control methods available. I cannot answer questions on any medical conditions as birth control is my area of expertise.
Question I have high blood pressure and am currently pregnant but after I have my child what do you think would be the best birth control option for me ?
Answer I think you should consider non-hormonal birth control, perhaps the condom, diaphragm, sponge or copper intra-uterine device. All of these are effective options which are safe to use even for women with high blood pressure. To decide which of these you prefer you have to think about what is most important for you and your partner. Do you think that spontaneity is very important? If so, you may find the diaphragm and condom interruptive. If you have heavy periods the IUD tends to worsen the bleeding and cramps. If you demand high efficiancy the IUD is ideal and the sponge and diaphragm less than ideal.
Many factors come into play when choosing a contraceptive. What is the most important for you? What kind of side effects can you/can't you tolerate?
If you make a list I think you will more easily see what you would prefer. If you need more help you can share your thoughts on birth control with me and we'll go through the different options togeter :-)
