Birth Control/missed pill

Question
I missed my pill and took it 5 hours and a half later. During that 5 hours before taking my pill i had sexual intercourse and i'm wondering if i could get pregnant or if i should use emergency contraception??

Answer
Hi Jacynthe,
Thanks for your question. I am not a medical doctor so always ask your questions to your personal physician as well. If you have taken all your pills correctly except 1 I would not think that this would be an emergency enough to take Plan B or Emergency Contraception. From what I have read, this is too strong a reaction. Please read the article at http://www.optionline.org
I will also look into this more if you would email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com
I will be out of town for two days but will answer your email on my return.

Thanks.
