Expert: Diane Cheryl - 10/30/2006

Question
I have been on NuvaRing for a year now and have a regular 28 day period.  
My period started on Aug 26 and ended on aug 30.  I had sex on September 7 and my period again on the 25.  After that menstration I stopped using the NuvaRing (i broke up with my boyfriend so figured i didn't need it anymore).
I am now 5 days late for my period and have never-even before birth control-been late or off time.
could this be somehow due to a pregnancy?  I have tested negative to an at home kit.
Is this a common issue with ending birth control--specifically nuvaring?
i have not undergone any personal stress or anxiety in my life (my boyfriend was a loser and work is great).
any suggestions?

Hope that I can help in some way but I'm not as familiar with the NuvaRing as I am with other birth control methods. Please check with your physician about this. Also, it seems that you did not complete your email as you end it with "I am now.."
