Question
Hi, I am 26 and I've been using the nuvaring for 2 years. I went on vacation and forgot my nuvaring, so I was not able to insert it after my -off week-. I am just returning home but my ring is scheduled to be taken out at the end of this week. It's been about an entire cycle should I just wait until the scheduled time to reinsert or should I just insert now.  I have been having sex over the last three weeks but not very frequently and not with a ny other protection. My period usually comes on by Monday or Tuesday, but there is no signs of it.  Did I wait to ask this question???????
Please help me

Answer
Hi Micah,
I'm not a medical professional so I urge you to check with your physician on this question and any other health concerns. I would think it is important to use the nuvaring as correctly as possible. Any time you have sex you can get pregnant. No birth control method is 100% safe in preventing pregnancy. If you want to see if you are pregnant, go to this website and see if there is a center near you. http://www.optionline.org
They have locations for free pregnancy testing on there. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and tell me what happens. I don't recommend any hormonal methods of birth control--just non-hormonal methods such as condoms, Natural Family Planning and of course, abstinence. Hope this helps and please email me.
