Question
About a week ago I went to a planned parent hood to ask about birth control, I was given a month supply of ortho tri -cyclen birth control and I'am suppose to go back the 28th for a PAT-smear and Im assuming another months or so supplies.. Well my period is very irregular and I even go a month without having one. I mentioned this to the nurse I was talking to but she said nothing of it. Now this birth control I have says to take it the sunday after my period starts and if my period starts on a sunday to go ahead and take it then. Im afraid that its going to be one of those months where I dont have my period since I have passed me due date. I was wondering if it makes a difference if I take it on a sunday that doesnt follow my period. i.e even though I have not had my period yet this month would it be ok for me to start taking the pill tomorrow?

Answer
Hello Rockell,
I'm not a medical professional so I wanted to let you know that. I don't understand why the nurse wouldn't tell you more about how to take the pills correctly. I've been trying to research your question and have not found an acceptable answer yet. Do you need to start taking the pills on Sunday for any reason? If not, in my opinion I would suggest waiting to see if your period starts. I'm concerned that this will make your cycle abnormal. Can you consider any other kind of birth control methods at this time? Do you need to use any birth control method? Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and we can talk more about everything.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
