Question
I am on the contraceptive injection depo provera. It is the 1st time ive had it and i was injected around the 12th October so I am due for another in the 1st week of december. I have had a period which is still ongoing and has lasted around 3 weeks now but is only very light. Should I be worried and what could be causing this?

Answer
Hi Lauren.
I'm not a medical doctor so I always suggest checking in with your physician about all medical matters. I believe that the depo shot has side effects and I would not recommend this method of birth control. The hormones in the shot are what would cause the side effects. I would be a little concerned about having a period for this long. This does not seem at all normal. Please check this out. I would like you to email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and let me know what happens. I would also like to talk to you more about other methods.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
