My depo expired dec 2nd of 06' its been 2 months and i havent had my period this last month but i did the month after it expired. and ive had sex numerous times with my partner with no contraceptives. some docs tell me i can get pregnant right away and some tell me it takes a while, im looking for another opinion cause i want to have more children very very soon but i dont know if i can or if i allready am pregnant, i dont trust pregnancy tests cause i took one with my last pregnancy and it said i wasnt and the next day i went to the doc and it came out positive...and my doc appointment isnt till friday, and im very impatient so i need someone to reasure me of some facts so i can pass the time.

Answer
It is certainly possible to get pregnant right after taking the Depo Provera shot.  It is also probably that it will take several months for your cycles to return and for your body to get back to normal.  That is why your doctors disagree with each other.  Each woman's body reacts differently to the artificial hormones.  Pregnancy tests are generally pretty reliable so I wouldn't reject the use of them from one experience that didn't work out.  You may have taken it too soon or used it incorrectly, or gotten a bad one.  But, I'd be patient and wait until Friday if you can since the lab test may be a covered expense while the drug store pregnancy test is your expense.  Patience is a virtue.

Natural Family Planning is a risk-free, safe, and economical alternative to chemical and barrier contraceptives. NFP is easy to understand, aids in fertility awareness for spacing children as well as increasing communication and assisting couples to concieve. I do not answer questions about other forms of birth control.

Experience

I have personal experience with all birth control methods, I practiced NFP throughout my child-bearing years and I am a paralegal with great research skills. I am totally convinced this is a viable alternative and I can back-up my statements with research.
