Question
hey there,

it seems from responces that have gotten that you are trained to answer this question :)

my boyfriend has left for the summer and I don't plan on having sex for 3 months.  Can I get off of birth control for 2 months and return on the month before to become regular again?

Answer
Hi Candice,

You can do that, but let me clue you in on a problem women sometimes have when they do this. Once you stop taking the pill, it takes your body a quite a while to become regular again, as far as having a period. So, sometimes when women do this, they plan on starting it back up at a certain point, but are unable to,(since first pills of new packs must be taken for the FIRST time the samday, or sunday following a period) because their periods are irregular. Irregular periods are a temporary side effect of stoppping the pill.

Other than that, it will be perfectly safe for you to do, and once you start them up you will be protected. What I mentioned above will be the only thing that may be troublesome to you.

Hope I gave you enough info to make a desicion that works well for you. Thanks,
