Birth Control/stopped taking bc pills and side effects

Question
I have been taking Mirecette 28 for about 3 years.  I just stopped taking them 2 weeks ago, because I was having real bad head aches, (I didn't start the new pack, so I have just finished with my period).  The problem I have had for the past 3 or 4 days is that my breasts are real sore and swollen.  Is this a possible side effect from stopping the pill?  My husband and I have used condoms since I have stopped, although, I know they are not 100% effective, (my first child is proof of that).  I did go buy a OTC pregnancy test, which was negative, but I believe it is to early for that to work correctly.

Answer
Hi Cindy,
I'm not a medical professional so I urge you to check with your doctor. I'm glad you have gone off the pill because I don't think it is healthy. Your symptom could be from going of the pill but I'm not able to diagnose this. The only forms of birth control I recommend are condoms and Natural Family Planning. If you want to know more about NFP, please go to allexperts.com and birth control and find Ramona and ask her a question. It might have been to early to detect the pregnancy but you could try another test in a while. You can find a free pregnancy testing center at http://www.optionline org
