Birth Control/wacky period

Question
I'm not sure if this is up your alley, but you seemed to be the best bet out of
the experts listed.  I've been on the pill for about two months now, (about to
finish up my second pack,) and ever since I started, I often have a dark
brownish discharge that I read up on and learned that it is fairly normal at
first.  However, for the past few days this weird discharge has become heavier
and heavier to the point where I just stuck a tampon in, and last night it
became a steady flow of blood.  (I can only assume that I started my period.)
My first period on birth control didn't "start"-start until I began taking the
sugar pills, but I had some brown spotting beforehand, and that period lasted
moderate-to-heavy the entire 7 days.  My periods when not on birth control
usually lasted about 5-6 days, but would only be very heavy for days 2,3, and
4.  I missed a pill about 5 days ago, but have been good ever since then;
however, the brown discharge followed by an early onset of my period came
about anyway.  I didn't start my first pack directly after my last period, it was
probably about a week and a half to two weeks after the last day of my
period, but my doctor thought it would be okay for me to go ahead and start
anyway.  I'm just frustrated with this constant period/discharge, and
wondered if you might have any insight.  Thanks.

Hi Julia,
So you've told you doctor all this and no answer? I'm not a medical professional but I just don't think this sounds "normal". Of course, I don't recommend the pill anyway. I only recommend non-hormonal birth control, which is abstinence, condoms and Natural Family planning. I feel that birth control pills are unhealthy and make a irregular cycle. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com so we can talk more.
Thanks.
