Question
i would like to start taking the pill on a different day to prevent getting it on the weekends. i currently start taking my pills on a tuesday, and i get my period and thursday-monday. i would like to start taking my pill on friday so i will not get it on the weekend. after my period can i just take it on friday instead of tuesday? or will that put me at risk? i really dont know the right way to do this and need some help. can you please give me your best suggestion? thank you.

Answer
This is a little bit tricky because you want to miss a couple of pills. I suggest talking to your provider. They would probably say to go ahead and start taking the pills when you want to, but for safety sake to use barrier methods during the time you do not take the pill and for the first week, seven days, after you start the new time.
