Question
hi there,
I was planning on taking birth control pills for the first time and I have some questions.
-I've heard birth control pills help with acne as well? would it help my back acne and oily skin?

- in the booklet it states you can start the pill on the sunday after your period begins or on the first day of your period--why do they give you a choice? is one a better option than the other?

- I have 4 sugar pills, does that mean my period will come within those 4 days?

- Will my flow be lighter and will I have less cramps?

- what happens to the egg/where does the egg go when you are taking birth control pills that causes you not to get pregnant?

thanks.

Answer
Hi Connie,

Birth control pills can help with acne but I don't believe that is a good reason to take them. In fact, I don't recommend the pill because of risks to your health and side effects (long-term and short-term).
I would seriously recommend a non-hormonal birth control method.

Most of your questions would be answered here

I don't necessarily agree with the information on this webpage but it's the best general answers to your questions.

For other information, I would recommend this webpage

This page covers and risks and more of what I believe to be true so check it out!

I would really like you to email me at Carieichel@aol.com and we can discuss things more. Put allexperts in the subject line. Bye for now
