Question
I am taking yasminelle, but generally end up taking it at different times each day. two days ago I had unprotected sex and though the guy didn't finish, I am still worried about pregnancy. There is no way for me to access emergency contraception until Monday when it is too late. should I take an extra dose of my regular birth control pill just to be safe, or am I overreacting?

Answer
Amanda, Sorry, I did not get your question until today. I don't know how taking an extra dose of your birth control pill would have helped. I do think you may be overreacting. You don't really know if you are pregnant and taking extra hormones might not be healthy for your body. There really is no such thing as "protected" sex because no birth control method is 100% safe in preventing pregnancy. Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com and we can talk more.
