Blue Chip Stocks - Stock research...

Expert: Dr. Joseph de Beauchamp - 8/7/2007

Question
Dr. Beauchamp:
Is there a website on which I can research the value of old stocks?  My father left some shares of Southern States Investment Corp. from the late 1950's, but I rather suspect they're worthless.
Any info/advice you could offer is greatly appreciated.
Warm regards,
David Gardner

Answer
Best thing to do is to take these into a local broker dealer. They will open a new account and do all this research for free. That's right, no cost, and then you will know what the value, if any, on these certificates. Broker dealers do this all the time.
