Question
Who was the very first "blues" artist.

Answer
Hi Adam,

The "Blues" started as "Shout Outs" or "Call Outs" in the fields of the Southern U.S. One person would call out, others would answer. So, the very first Blues artists are lost to antiquity. However, I'll suggest 3 that were early artists that made an impact. They are Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, and Bessie Smith. But earlier than these three was Papa Charlie Jackson. I hope this helps! Regards, George
