Blues/Blues at Sunrise

I believe the track you're talking about is actually on Albert King's album "In Session" that he did with Stevie Ray Vaughan.  Excellent Blues album and a great piece of history to own.

I'm trying to find the Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin track myself.

I just wanted to chime in on this.  I'm looking for the same thing I believe, but Stevie Ray Vaughn actually isn't in it from what I understand.

There was an album where Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn played together called 'In Session'.  While they're playing Blues at Sunrise Albert King starts talking about how he played it with Hendrix and Joplin at the Fillmore West.  He then tells Stevie 'you gotta play the Jimi Hendrix lick, 'cause he was on there too', and Stevie proceeds to take a solo.

But where is this recording?  Cheers

I'm thinking he didn't really play w/Janis & Jimi. I think he might have been a little too young. But it makes sense that he played with Albert King a little later & related the same story. I know he got a lot of his licks on the guitar from Jimi, Albert, BB, Eric and he could play rhythm & lead at the same time. I was lucky enough to see him in Atlanta a couple of months before he died. BB was the headliner & after a couple of songs he called SRV, Joe Cocker & the guy from Fab. T'birds that sang & harmonica & they jammed for over 2 hrs. I know there were TV cameras & other recordings & I have yet to find it anywhere available on DVD or CD. I really wish I could 'cause it was the best concert I've ever seen since 1969! If anybody knows where to get it let me know!! SRV was the BEST!!!!
