Bo Diddley - female musicians

Expert: David Blakey - 1/5/2005

Question
Hello,

I would like to know the name of the two female rythm-guitarist-players that used to perform on stage with Bo Diddley...

Thx!

Peter

Answer
Hi Peter,

Thank you for your question.

Lady Bo (Peggy Jones) played guitar in Bo Diddley's band between 1957 and 1961 and then sporadically of and on until 1993.

Duchess (Norma-Jean Wofford) played guitar with his band between 1962 and 1966.

Then there was also Cookie (Cornelia Redmond) who sang back-up vocals in Bo Diddley's band between 1965 and 1973.

I hope the above information is useful to you.

Best wishes,

David Blakey, Webmaster,
