Board Games/Selling an idea for a board game

Question
Hello Darwin,
I'm Spiros from Greece , I teach comic design and I start
designing board games before several years ago, but I kept
my ideas only for personal entertainment with my friends.
But I had a board game that we kept playing again and again
until my friends said to me to sell it to a toy company.
I send to several toy companies my idea not believing that
anyone will answer and surprisingly one Greek toy company
answered that they wanted my board game. I have to give them
a presentation of the game next week.
What should I do now? I'm afraid that they will ask me how
much I want to sell this board game and I don't know a thing
on board game selling ideas market.
Yours sincerely
Spiros

Answer
Hello Spiros,

Congratulations.  You are no doubt venturing outside you comfort zone and I applaud you for that.  It means you are on the cusp of learning new things and as a teacher you can experience that feeling once again.

I am not a good person to direct you on this matter.  There are a number of good websites that can give you good direction.  A great person to look up on the web is Mary Couzins.

Expertise

I can answer most questions about tabletop and commercial card games. I am NOT a good source for wargame or eurogames information. My favorite questions are what game is this? Where can I find this game or game rules?

Experience

I have been board game collector/seller since 1993. I am also one of the top ten sources for games and related materials on the internet.
