Board Games/Smoke Showing.
Expert: Dante - 10/17/2011
QuestionQUESTION: Hello I have a board game copyright 1984 called Smoke Showing. It is a game about fire fighting made by professional fire equipment inc out of Modesto CA. My question to you is have u heard of this game, what info do you have if any and what would it be worth. As far as i can tell all the peices are intact. It is also signed by Bruce O Elliot, I have no idea who that is. Any help is much appreciated. Thank You
ANSWER: Hey Zach,
Sorry about the delay, I've been sick all week, and I'm working on getting caught up :).
I have not heard of Smoke Showing, and there's no entry for it on BoardGameGeek. I can't find any reference to it on the eBay or through normal search engines. You've got a fairly unique find.
Unfortunately, unique find doesn't automatically mean valuable... so I'm not sure what more to say about it. Would you be willing to snap some pictures and send them to me? I'd like to see the production quality and ANYTHING else that might help me track down what it is and where it came from?

QUESTION: Hey Dante, thanks for the reply, i have attached some pictures for you to go over. It was purchased from a garage sale in colorado. I took several pictures but i guess i can onlu upload one so I put the one that i thought would be best. If you give me your email i can send you more. And also all the different cards for the game are still in the sheet and have not been seperated showing that the game has never been played, and all the game pieces have not been put together. I really look forward to hearing back form you.
AnswerHey Zach, I've been doing some research, and I literally can't find anything about the game.
My only guess is that this was a small-print or custom run that someone created to promote awareness around the fire equipment. As for the value, I'm actually not that experienced when it comes to selling games (I collect them, and honestly, I've never sold one in my life).
I'm sorry I can't be of more help than this.
