Board Games/Rules

Question
I love games from the 40's thru 60's but the rules are often lost.  Right now I'm searching for the rules to McHale's Navy. (1962)  Where can I get them?

Answer
Hello Gail,

It can be very frustrating finding these old rules.  I got so frustrated in the mid-90's trying to find rules to old games we had to develop a database of online rules.  Unfortunately, the sites containing those rules came and left over the years.  I have now developed a game rules database online at Darwin's Game Closet.

In looking through my paper files for rules I did find a photocopy of the rules.  I will be scanning them and adding them to our game rules database on Sunday.  Just remember this is a 2nd generation scan of the rules.  Some parts were extremely light.  I don't like to list these in the database, but I have seen a number of requests online for these rules, therefore I will get them posted.  It's something at least.  Most of it is readable.

Expertise

I can answer most questions about tabletop and commercial card games. I am NOT a good source for wargame or eurogames information. My favorite questions are what game is this? Where can I find this game or game rules?

Experience

I have been board game collector/seller since 1993. I am also one of the top ten sources for games and related materials on the internet.
