1. Can there be uncomfortable feeling for chess players including Chess Grand masters if Chess Boards are designed with different contrasting colors instead of traditional/conventional Black and White Squares ?.

2. Can there be more impact in Rapid Chess Games ?. (Chess Moves to be made quickly by both players in less time).

For examples: Red and Green, Red and Blue, Blue and Yellow.

The Chess rules will remain the same.

Example : Red and Green chess board.

Red has replaced white square and Green has replace the Black square.
32 red squares replacing the white squares.
32 green squares replacing the black squares.
Red will make the first move.

There will be 16 red pieces and 16 green pieces.

The placement of the chess pieces on the chess board will be exactly the same i.e. Red and Green Pieces similar to the traditional white and black squares.

3. Can different Color patterns changes in the Board Games without
changing the rules can affect the players playing the specific board game viz Monopoly, Snakes & Ladders, Scrabble, Ludo, Checkers etc ?.

Here important point is no changes in the rules of the board game but changes in board color, coins color, dices color, cards color, markers color, tiles color, pieces color etc used in the specific board game.

ANSWER: Hi Prashant S Akerkar,
Thanks for your most interesting questions concerning the effects of color of various game boards and pieces on game play.  Your questions would be better answered by a Color Psychology Expert (more information below) Unfortunately, the description of my volunteer services on the AllExperts webpage does not include being a Color Psychology Expert, who would have more information on the psychological effects of colors on the human mind and possibly the effects of colors of game boards and game pieces.

This being said, I decided to go outside of my expertise with a couple of suggestions that may be helpful to you.

1. Color Psychology: There is some interesting information on the Wikipedia website for you to consider concerning color psychology that should help you get started in your search for more information.

Here is the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_psychology

2. I was able to find an article in the Journal of Attention, Perception and Psychophysics (published in 1980) that explores the effects of checkerboards colors:

Here is the link: http://link.springer.com/article/10.3758%2FBF03204392#page-1

You might be able to find more articles on this website that can help you with answering your questions too.  I admire your desire to explore these areas and wish you the best in your search.

In the meantime if you have any questions concerning titles and game play in board games that were published since the 1950s, I would be happy to assist you as well.
Best regards,
Don

Playing Cards
Playing Cards
QUESTION: Dear Don

Thank you.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playing_card

Another example would be of playing cards.

Instead of Traditional color for Hearts and Diamonds as Red, by changing it to Orange and Traditional color for Spades and Clubs as Black, by changing it to Green or Brown and white background change to Gray.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contract_bridge

The rules remain the same, there will be 13 spades, 13 clubs, 13 hearts
and 13 diamonds but here the cards colors are changed and background color is changed.

So 13 green or brown spades cards.
So 13 green or brown clubs cards.
So 13 orange hearts cards.
So 13 orange diamonds cards.

The Background color for all the 52 cards is changed to Gray instead of
white.

Can it cause discomfort for the Players playing Bridge
who are expert players in the Game similar to Grand masters in
Chess ?.

The Players are used to the same board color, pieces color, cards colors
for years.

i.e.

Can it affect their game style, strategies and variations  ?.

QUESTION: Dear Don

Thank you.

Do you feel if Contrasting Color Chess Boards viz

1. Red, Green with the equivalent 16 red, 16 green pieces for the same
2. Red, Blue with the equivalent 16 red, 16 blue pieces for the same
3. Blue, Yellow with the equivalent 16 blue, 16 yellow pieces for the same

and more ......

are manufactured and then out of these a random contrasting color chess board is selected out of these in Chess World Championship example match between Anand and Carlsen as a example. The players are told before the match who will make the first move similar to white making the first move. For example Carlsen is making the first move and a random chess board of Blue, Yellow is selected then Blue plays the first move i.e. Carlsen takes Blue and Anand takes yellow.
