Question
hi paul,
about 15 years ago my friends and i had a "lord of the rings" game.  it had a hexagonal grid map. players would either be the fellowship of the ring, sauron, or the dark lord.  characters had cards, detailing their abilities, and there were "action" cards which players could use in their turn to hamper their opponents.  can you tell me who made this game, and if its still available?
thanks,
andy

Answer
Hi Andy,

Oh yes!  SPI's "Lord of the Rings."  VERY RARE = $$$$.  They made it either as a complete pack or you could buy several modules covering the series.  The place to find it is on auction at eBay.com under keyword "SPI."  You could pay up to $200.00 for a complete, unopened mint game.  If you really have to have it, look for an mint, "unpunched" copy that says something like "all componets here" in the sellers description.  You would want the complete boxed edition that includes ALL modules.

I can answer questions based on wargaming. The history of the hobby, the giants (SPI, Avalon Hill, GDW, TSR, etc) and the little guys (Flying Buffalo, OSG, Vanguard, Mayfair, etc). I also know current worth of games based on condition, collectable value.
