Board Games/board game from the 70's
Expert: Mickey Hollander - 8/17/2003
QuestionHi Mickey,
By any chance do you know the game, Lucky Break? It was manufactured by Gabriel in the 1970's. The board was a four leaf clover and there was a popper in the middle. One of the sides of the die in the popper was a black cat. I have been searching for it for months. Any help you can give me on locating one in good condition would be appreciated. Thanks.
AnswerHi ya Jen!
Thanks so much for the intriguing question! Unfortunately, I cannot just pull this off the game shelf and help you out however, I can advise you of several options on how to locate this game. First off...the game itself you know is OOP (out of print) and is obscure enough not to be recognized by many gamers. So, you have a couple options...all of which require you to be a bit patient but I can assure you patience will give way to a fruitful find. Here's some options: Go to the auction sites of your preference (ebay, yahoo, msn, half.com, etc...) and "save" a search for "Lucky Break Game". (make sure you have game in the saved search or you will get notified of the DVD lucky break which is not what you want.) Then actively search the site and watch for it to show up. Secondly, you can go to several of the groups I use and have others help you. I find "game people" enjoy helping others out. I would recommend you "post" a help message/request in one of these 3 helpful sites:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/boardgamecollecting
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/boardgamersassociation
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gaynjsboardgamehangout
Lastly, you can communicate with me directly at mickeyjames@hotmail.com. I can keep an eye out and let you know what i find out.
I am sure you will find it within a few months if you actively persue these venues. Good Luck! Thanks again!
