Question
Hi I have a 135hp merc outboard when holding ign switch in start position But when you release the switch it cuts out.I already replaced the switch and wire harness do you have any suggestions.

Answer
First of all make sure the switch is the correct one for your engine. OMC used separate choke switches at that time. Also check your engine as I believe they used a battery ignition also, so if the switch is wired wrong then it will stop when power is taken away.
Get a service manual and wire the switch according to the wiring diagram in the manual.
