Question
1999 Merc 225 OB when tilt down, the relay blows.  If the up relay replaces the down, will work for several tilts but will blow the same relay again(down).  Is there a problem with this engine/control system?

Answer
You could have a hydraulic problem overloading the system or bad wiring. Pull off both relays and check for burned areas and corrosion. Check all the other wires in the system, particularly grounds. Check the main wire going from the powerhead to the trim motor, I have seen some where the wire was rubbed almost through going through the cowl.
Replace both relays. Post back with what you find.
