Question
I have a problem with the no oil alarm coming on when idling it will clear when i take the revs up also after it has done this the motor will start surging if its not at high revs(4500). I went a head and replaced the spark plugs which didnt seem to make much difference. They did have oil residue on them

Answer
Mike take your boat to a shop with a certified tech. Have them do a complete diagnostics of the oil system. You could have a problem with the VRO system and it is letting you know. It can be anything from water in the oil, gummed oil to a leak internally.
It is a good system but left unfixed can ruin your engine.
