how to replace a water pump in a 9.9 mercuary out board boat motor 1990
Best bet is to get a service manual.
Drop the lower unit. Unbolt the water pump on top of the driveshaft on the lower unit and replace. Make sure you index the shift shafts, driveshafts and water tubes.
Service manuals have whole chapters on replacing the water pumps and associated parts. It is beyond the scope of this site to give detailed instructions.
