Question
I also have a problem with my head overheating on the starboard side. Even from cold start once it has been running for a couple of minutes the right hand side head is much hotter than the left. I have taken of the head and cover plate and cleaned out the water ways, have taken out thermostats and checked them they are opening well as they are not that old, the pressure relief valves are ok as well. I did take the exhaust cover plate of and found the right hand side was built up with a lot of carbon and had a quite a bit of oil deposits there. the gasket didnt look like it was in good shape as well. Do you think this could be a major part of the problem. I am waiting on new gaskets to arrive so i can put it back together and see if is running cooler. I dont know what else could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Answer
it sounds like you have covered all your bases...it gets warmer than the other but it is HOT does the alarm sound???you can check the buzzer by grounding out the temp sender wire at the head, the alarm will sound....the only other is head gasket I have seen them leak and still run well...but HOT..
