Boat Repair/trim will only come up with trailer button

Question
i just bought a 2001 maxum 1800sr i have taken it out about five times it just hit 200 hours. after i got home and hocked it up to the hose to flush, i lowered the trim about 4 inches using the trim tab on the throttle after about ten minutes i disconnected the water and tried to rase it back up and nothing...so i tried the trailer button that only goes up and it worked...i know the trim tab on the throttle brings the outdrive up to a sirten spot so you don't damage the drive shaft or cv joint wile in gear. but at this time it was in that margin i still had about 3 inches to go up before it stops and you have to use the trailer button for it to go all the way up.  i read the other postings on this awesome web site and i think if the tab up relay is broken then the trailer button shouldn't work ether rite OR is that relay the sensor that does not let the trim go past a sirtan degree in gear....thank you...

Answer
there are two senders on the gimbal ring of the outdrive..one is a trim limit switch the other is a trim position sender....the tilt limit switch has two wires to it  if you look on the gimbal ring I bet the wires are corroded...the replacement sender comes with the wires...drive must come off to replace it....
