Question
I am having problems with cooling water. I replaced the whole water pump last season. I am getting very little water out the water exaust hole. I think their should be a steady stream when running. Any imput on what to look at next? It is a short shaft. Thanks to all

Answer
Jim, first of all check that the hose for the tale-tell is clear. Small insects like to crawl up the hose, or some debris can be stopping it up. If the engine is actually overheating you will need to check the thermostat, in is located in the water cover on the back of the cylinder head. Also the 9.9 and 15 were prone to collapsed grommets where the water tube goes into the powerhead, unfortunately you will need to remove the powerhead to do this. A service manual will go a long way.
