Question
how can you tell how many hours a boat motor has done? i have seen add saying the motor has 115 hours , how do they know this?
Andrew, unless the engine has an hour meter, and it has been connect since the engine was new, there is no way to tell. I discount what the meters say as far as actual hours. I only use them as service reminders. Do a proper check of the engine, that will tell you more about the engine than any meter will.
