Question
I have a warning beep coming on about every 2 min and cannot find low oil levels or such. What could it be?

The warning horn will go off for a number of reasons. Over heat, low oil pressure, and gear lube monitor being low are the most common. Can you tell me what the engine is doing when it goes off. Are you at full throttle or an idle. Is it only after you run it hard or is it all of the time.

| Comment | Tyler, thanks for your response. The warning beep comes on regardless of temperature of the engine, revs, speed, throttle. In fact everything runs just fine but the beep is there about every 2 min. | ||

I have a mercury tech number and a yamaha tech number if you would like, but i don't think that being a certified tech makes you a good diagnostic pro.
Education/Credentials
Three years of see and learn shop time. Two weeks of tech training at Mercuiser school at Springfield. Two update merc schools at Topeka KS. "gotta love George". Tons of "E" skills classes online. Most of my ability to diagnose came from shop time working out problems.
