MY 2006 Tahoe has a 4.3L engine a 190hp hp inboard engine, with a Mercury Drive; and when it  has yet to be started that day it takes awhile for it to start. What could be the problem? After it has been started that day it seems to run fine.

Answer
See if the carb squits any fuel when you start off, install the flame arrestor then crank it for 5 seconds pump the accelorator and see if gas is coming then if so just pump the shiter a cpl times to prime the engins when cold..When warm it does not need it..
