Boat Repair/IB vs OB vs I/O

Question
Hi ;)
I am looking to purchase my first boat on my own. I'm looking at bow riders 19-20 feet V hull. I my family has always had 2stroke outboards but they were usually center console fishing boats. I notice most of the bow riders have I/O's , only a few with OB's. My biggest question is which of the two are more mechanically sound. Which is more costly to repair. The pro's and con's from a mechanics point of view. (To be used in salt water, trailered) Also, do I have to "winterize" my boat in Florida?  Thank you in advance, Suzie.

Answer
19 to 20 would be great for your first boat..Nice with the outboard, more space in the boat..Stern drives are so much quiter than outboards.. Mainatance is a little more on the stern drive, but problems are less...so it really boils down to what appeals to you...
As for winterizing if you le the unit set for more than 4 to 6 weeks you should at least add a fuel stabilizer...Hope I could help..
