Question
I am buying a 2005 Chaparral.  During the 100 hr service the dealer noted a leaking boot on the port ourdrive and gimble joint was so badly corroded that they replaced all the upper internals.  Is there any possible damage to the engine or lowers that I might be aware of? I have not closed on the boat yet.

Answer
On a boat that new sounds like a bad dock and electrical hook up.  Is the boat kept in a slip at a marina,  are the boats beside it corroding?  The only thing to really look for is the condition of the drives. Do they have zincs? If so replace then yearly.
