Question
i have a 1987 48 spl evinrude that i cant get to fire i changed the rectifier but it didnt help is there any way to test the power pack that i can due myself also i am trying to find a photo of a 1975 terry tourney boat if you have any info

There are ways to test the power pack, the stater, and the trigger. However I am not at my shop to tell you how to do it. If you find a book for that motor they will give you a list of tests to run through. You will need a multi-meter and some patience to go through it step by step but you will definitely need a book.

Three years of see and learn shop time. Two weeks of tech training at Mercuiser school at Springfield. Two update merc schools at Topeka KS. "gotta love George". Tons of "E" skills classes online. Most of my ability to diagnose came from shop time working out problems.
