Question
QUESTION: hello, i have a 2000 trophy 2352WA with 5.0 mercruiser. The problem is the engine tilt and trim will go down with the down switch but will not go up, but if i use the trailer up switch it will

ANSWER: The drive unit has two senders on the sides of the dimbal ring, 1 is for your trim gauge, the other is for trim limit.  that one has gone bad or the wires have corroded out.  You can still use it just remember not to trim it up too much when underway..

QUESTION: where would I find the dimbal ring,is it mounted with the trim pump and solenoid, and is it fixable? Thank you

Answer
the gimbal ring is the round piece in the stern drive mounting are. it pivots up and down.and turns side to side. the drive is right in the middle if you turn the steering wheel all the way one way you can see one, repeat the other way and see the other one..  One may have TL on it the other TS look at the wires.. it can be replaced but you have to pull the Drive and replace the wire harnsss.  To get around that if you want the switch to work all the time you can connect the two wires that are coming from the TL switch in side the boat before it gets to the switch..
