Question
I moved the barrell nut, along the threads, so that the outdrive properly shifts both F and R. However, the kill switch only works correctly going into R. For F gear, the kill switch stays engaged, thus it kills the engine; instead of a short kill cycle. I'm beginning to believe the part that moves engages the kill switch is bad, however when I removed it for a close inspection, it is merely plastic with a spring. Unless the spring is weak, this part seems too simple to be defective.

Thanks,

David

Answer
remove the shift cable from the engine that goes to the drive. you should be able to move easly if not the lower cable needs to be replaced, the switch is only activated when changing gears for a split second..sounds like the cable is going bad..check it out...
