Question
i just purchased the boat : bayliner capri bowrider 4 cylinder force engine, i thought the engine takes only gas, found out it takes a mixture of gas/oil but only added about 4 gallons of gas it was half full with gas/oil. the lower unit is leaking oil (gasket problem needs to be sealed), and there`s a constant buzzing when you turn the ignition on (overheating problem could be the thermostat or water pump or something worse), the engine is idling high then it did stop running, when i turn the ignition on it doesn`t wanna start. seen light smoke coming out of the engine ?? what do you think ??

Answer
Hi Isham,

The light smoke is fine as long as it is not dark and goes away after a short period.

If the gas / oil mix is not correct, then empty the fuel tank and start over. With the correct mix.

Replace the gasket and whilst you have the lower unit open, clean the units and check for damage of the impeller and tubes around it. That may help the overheating noise.

Your plugs may not be in the right order, check and the noise may go away.

If you have a diagram or maintenance manual for the engine, then follow the guide for finding the idle switch. You can adjust it to lower the speed of idle.

Good luck
