Question
I have a 1998 Lund with a 50 HP Johnson, the motor starts
and runs great, I have 2 problems. When the key is turn to shut off the motor it will not stop running, and the kill switch will not stop the motor. 2nd problem is oil leaking
from the prop location, it is black in color, oil was change in the gear case and the leak is still dark in color.
Any information would be helpful

Problem 1

Check the wiring of the ignition - loose connections, corrosion etc

Kill Switch - replace it

Problem 2

A seal has gone in the lower gearcase. I would suggest taking your motor to a professional to stop any further damage to the gear unit.
