Subject: Steering Wheel

Question
I have a 2004 Stratos 285 Pro XL I have taken the nut off the steering wheel but I can't get the wheel off the Sea Star Pro Helm to install a Trim Lever. Do I need a special tool for this? Thank You for any help you can give

Answer
yes there is a special tool to remove it but here is how to do so without one..put the nut back on just so it is flush with the shaft,  so you do not hurt the threads on it. then while you are pulling out on the steering wheel have someone hit the shaft/nut at the same time, with a hammer...
