Question
I just bought a 1988 Thompson 24 FT. I can't get it to turn over with the ignition however it will start if I jump it across the soleniod. I've changed the starter, soleniod, circut breaker, ignition, tryed to bypass the neutral safety switch. Im lost It has a 350 chevy mercrusier

Answer
it sounds like a solenoid..you should have 12 volts to one of the small wires connected to the solenoid, when it the crank position , 12 volts turn the solenoid on..and spin the starter...neutral switch is in the handle and would stop the start circuit..when not in neutral..
