Question Hi,Started motor as normal before leaving for a great day of fishing,Got 1 mile offshore and motor stopped instantly.Plenty fresh fuel (2 tanks)and know idea (newby).I continued to try and start it but only succeeded in flattening the battery. In between flattening the battery I tried switching over to other tank, pump seemed mostly semi hard but even at times got hard but still no go.(On both tanks).
(I possibly used choke to much also).Got it home (towed),put in another battery tried a friends fuel tank and it started straight away. Then tried my 2 tanks and low and behold the motor ticked over with no hiccups.Took the boat back on the water and went well until we ran out of gas so I had to change over to a full tank and guess what it wouldn't start again.Showing same symptoms as before.HELP
Answer check the anti-syphon valve... it is in the tanks where the fuel line connects...
You need to find out what happens when it dies... is the primper buld flat or loose..is it a fuel problem or is it ignition..???
