hi i have a mercury 75 outboard that seems to run well, the problem is that when i go out the alarm sounds,and  the rev counter does not work. can you tell me what is wrong with the engine ?

if the alarm sounds constant then check your water flow...replace the waterpump......rev counter ,??? Tachometer ???  if the tack stoped then either the tach is bad or the rectifier is bad ..does it still charge...if it does then change the tachometer....
